[REPORT] SanRemo-Milano Fixed [RNR Classiques]

Finally here is the report of the 2nd Classique we did during the 10-11th (sept.) week-end.

We left Paris to Nice by train on Friday 9th with all our stuff more or less packed (some people of the group came with no clothes excepted his racing jersey and…a simple t.shirt)  to be be ready for the (very early) departure on the next day.

It let us enough time to chill in Nissa la Bella, riding the city, fixing some mechanical problems, eating the best Ice Cream @ Fenocchio, chilling at the beach and spending the night sipping wine and doing a pizzas orgy on the sea front…Perfect day !

Saturday morning at 5:00′ three horrible alarm clocks took us from sleep and transformed this dream in a vision of hell (Rudy’s alarm is Norvegian death metal…): We had to take the first train to San Remo 30 mn later so we were in a rush !(I won’t tell you the homo erotic details of this scene involving 4 half naked tattooed characters in a small room packed of gears, bottles, bikes, and various goodies…)

After a sprint in the deserted city (the game was to avoid drunk men and the tramway rails), we finally arrived in SanRemo by train, had some quick breakfast and start riding ’til Campo Ligure (also famous for his Freeride camp).

We had a crazy weather : around 36°c, sunny summer weather in September!…

Fuckin insane !!! (and more insane the infamous Momo broke is seat collar 25 km after the departure, obliging us to find a bike shop to fix it…) Happily Italy is the land of Cycling: there is a bike shop every 5 km on this itinerary !

Riding almost along the coast, going up and down through hills and beaches…

Beautiful landscapes and not a so easy ride (made more difficult because of the heat: we drank around 10 bottles of water/per personn).

We were quite arrived to Genova (Big turn before the last 30kms of the day) and Momo broke a pedal (Hopefully he got one new with him).

So, it was time to attack The Passo Del Turchino : A pin in the ass ! 25kms of climbing with stupid motorcycles… And after this really hot day it wasn’t a piece of cake.

Anyway, we spent the night in a Hotel in Campo Ligure and left sunday morning for Milano.

The road  was flat the all day but it was warmer than the day before…no difficulty, just a long distance to cover and (again) many crazy cars and motorbikes driving super fast.

We got lost in the suburbs of Milano (what a f*** mess over there) and we finally decided to take the highway on the emergency lane to reach the city faster…

The evening in Milano was weird (realizing everything was already behind us) and the heat during the two days kicked our asses. Many beers were needed to recover from our efforts ;)

On monday morning we had a meeting with Antonio (Cinelli CEO) and Alessandra who nicely let us visit their Art Gallery and drove us to the sanctuary :

The CINELLI FACTORY !!!

It was like this dream we all had as kids : Thinking you are alone in a Toys shop, locked at night…

We had a great moment over here, walking along the production line, visiting the workshop, the creative office (Big Up Frederico ;) and all the corners of the factory ! We even had the chance to visit the “secret chamber”: the Colombus Furnitures “Museum” : a room stuffed with the full collection of the Modernist furnitures made by the brand from the 50′s…

Well, it’s better to have a look to our flickr set and to the video souvenir we did (a bit long but…)
